127 Nalbari polling stations very sensitive

NALBARI, Jan 16: The poll preparations, headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Nalbari as well as the District Election Officer, who is co-ordinating and supervising the preparations for the ensuing panchayat elections, is on full swing so that the polls could smoothly be held as per the schedule. The district election machinery is working in this connection.

The report available here added that the polling stations in the entire Nalbari district are classified as very sensitive (VS) and sensitive (S) which have been identified and necessary arrangements are being done to conduct the panchayat elections smoothly in those polling stations. Sources added that as many as  127 polling stations were identified as very sensitive while 234 among the total polling stations were identified as sensitive. Natun Dehar Uttar Dharmapur Zila Parishad has some sensitive polling stations which could pose security problems and 29 polling stations were identified as very sensitive in the Natun Dehar Uttar Dharmapur Zila Parishad.

According to the report, 20 polling stations are identified as sensitive in Daulasal Zila Parishad while 7 polling stations in Mukalmua Zila Parishad as sensitive and three polling stations are identified as very sensitive in the said Zila Parishad. Eighteen polling stations and 17 polling stations are identified as sensitive and very sensitive respectively in Bhangnamari Zila Parishad while 11 polling stations and 21 polling stations in Belsor Zila Parishad are identified as sensitive and very sensitive respectively. 36 polling stations and 5 polling stations in Chamata Zila Parishad are identified as sensitive and very sensitive while 20 polling stations and 25 polling stations in Pakowa Zila Parishad are identified as sensitive and very sensitive respectively.

According to the report, 41 polling stations and 29 polling stations in Uttar Dharmapur Natun Dehar Zila Parishad are identified as sensitive and very sensitive respectively while 34 polling stations and 15 polling stations in Tihu Zila Parishad are classified as sensitive and very sensitive polling stations. 24 polling stations in Barbhag Zila Parishad and 9 polling stations in Ghograpar Zila Parishad are identified as sensitive while 10 polling stations in Bahjani Zila Parishad are reportedly identified as sensitive.

The district election machinery and district police administration are doing full preparations to hold the election smoothly. But violent incidents might create chaos during the poll day if law and order is not tightened, the report said.
