Giving nature a chance: Pangsau Pass Winter Festival, 2013

DIBRUGARH, Jan 20: Eco-tourism is a big business now-a-days but being so, it also puts to risk the main resource on which it thrives---Nature.
The Pangsau Pass Winter Festival 2013 aims at addressing this aspect, wherein conservation hand-in hand with tourism is encouraged. Held at Nampong in Arunachal Pradesh, it seeks to highlight the richness of the ‘Biodiversity Hotspot’ of the East Himalayas and the Indo-Burma region. The winter festival started in the year 2007 with the involvement of communities like Tangsa, Khamti and Singpho, and today it has come to occupy a place in the itinenary of wildlife and nature enthusiasts.
